Introducing Satellite Echo

Our echocardiography service is specifically tailored to address the healthcare needs of regional, rural and remote areas, where access to specialised cardiac diagnostic testing may be limited. We understand the importance of providing timely, high-quality and reliable diagnostic heart testing services to patients in regional locations, and our flexible solution can cater for the differing needs in these regional communities.

One of the key features of our diagnostic cardiac service is the implementation of cloud-based reporting software. This software enables seamless communication between our sonographers on the ground performing the diagnostic tests with the reporting cardiologists who are often offsite in centralised locations. This eliminates the barriers previously faced with large geographical distances between patients in regional communities and cardiologists in metropolitan locations. By utilising secure and efficient cloud technology, we ensure that patient data and test results are easily accessible to the appropriate specialists, regardless of their location.

  • Mobile Echocardiogram Machines: We have dedicated mobile echo machines designed to transport between sites equipped with the latest cardiac software and ultrasound transducers, as well as electrocardiograph (ECG) machines, stress test equipment, and ambulatory monitoring systems at specific locations. These tools allow us to conduct comprehensive heart assessments on-site, eliminating the need for patients to travel long distances. At some of our more established sites we have equipment that remains on-site, particularly bulky items such as treadmills and larger ultrasound machines.
  • Experienced Cardiac Sonographers: Our team consists of expertly trained and experienced cardiac sonographers who specialise in conducting various diagnostic cardiac tests. They are all university post-graduates in Cardiac Ultrasound and ASAR accredited with years of experience in private practice and public hospital settings. They travel with the mobile echo machines and perform the necessary examinations and procedures with care and accuracy.
  • Cloud-Based Reporting Software: We employ a sophisticated cloud-based reporting software that securely stores patient data, test results, and medical imaging files. This software enables real-time transmission of test data from the mobile unit to the cloud, ensuring that heart specialists can access the information promptly and begin patient management immediately if necessary.
  • Remote Consultations: Once the test results are uploaded to the cloud-based platform, our cardiac specialists, who are located in centralised medical facilities, can review and interpret the data remotely. Through secure messaging platforms, they can communicate with patients or referring doctors to organise consultations, diagnoses, and treatment recommendations.
  • Timely Follow-up and Care: Based on the assessment and recommendations provided by the heart specialists, we ensure that patients receive the appropriate follow-up care. We can assist with scheduling appointments, arranging referrals, or even coordinating necessary interventions in collaboration with local healthcare providers.
